Paris Men's Fashion Week Spring 2012...Kamilya

Gorgeous Kamilya.
Especially love her metallic skirt and little two-tone flats.

Paris Fashion Week AW 2011...Erin

Beautiful designer Erin Fetherston.

Paris Fashion Week AW 2011...Frida and Abbey Lee

Frida Gustavsson and Abbey Lee Kershaw in the fuzziest of fuzzy winter coats!

Paris Fashion Week AW 2011...Kerry

Singer and songwriter Kerry Alexander outside Christian Dior. Check out her sweet, sweeeet voice here on SoundCloud. I have been listening to her songs while editing today's photos. Love "I know I am, but What Are You" and "HWY 280".
I think Kerry said she was just in Paris to study (she is from Minnesota) and had stumbled upon the Dior show. So glad I got to meet her and listen to her beautiful music.

Louise for Grazia.it

Miss Louise Ebel aka Miss Pandora for Grazia.it.
Walking into Louise's beautiful Paris apartment is like being admitted to an intimate french salon from another century: deep vermilion* walls, gold framed artwork, towering fronds of peacock feathers, gilt candles, piles of art books stacked on the floor, scatter cushions in jewel colours tossed on the bed, ivy climbing the walls, an antique crown nestled on the sideboard.....and then there are the sky-high heels from Gucci and Christian Louboutin! I am quite sure that had Gucci and Louboutin been around in the 18th century they would have been worn by the women at the salon gatherings.
You can find the interview with Louise including her favourite places to shop in Paris, her inspirational muse and her next holiday location on Grazia.it here. I took my first photo of Louise way back at men's fashion week in Paris in 2009. And since then I have been smitten. Louise has a personal style which is entirely her own- I don't know anyone else who can pull off a halo of flowers, a top hat, an antique crown or diamante headband during the day and look entirely appropriate. You can tell she knows what suits her (lots of floaty, silky, sheer fabrics- you should see the incredible party dresses on the rail in her bedroom!) and wears it with confidence and conviction. Her style influences come from the runway, movies, music, art (she is studying art history at university in Paris) and literature but one thing is constant: her gorgeous collection of silver rings "my own menagerie...of animals and insects" which she wears piled on her fingers (with pretty blue fingernails on the day of our shoot). She buys them from a store specialising in mythology, La Mandragore, on rue Saint Placide, Paris.
What was Louise wearing for our shoot together?
Sheer oriental, kimono romper from ASOS, diamante belt from Shourouk and heels from Gucci (which I know you can't see in these photos).
Cream dress (below) from Topshop.
I always wondered what people do with those peacock feathers I see them struggling home with from markets. Louise's reception room suits them perfectly. Love this antique headband. So beautiful. Dress from Mango, belt from Topshop. Ysterike dress, American Apparel Hat and Belt. Boots from Topshop. I adore the way the dress shows off Louise's anchor tattoo.
*vermilion used to be one of my favourite colours in my Derwent coloured pencil set when I was little. I think I liked the name more than anything!
p.s. you can click on the diptych's and horizontal images to make them a little bigger.

Natalie for Grazia.it

Miss Natalie Weiss for Grazia.it.
Probably a lot of you will recognise Natalie, contributor to German based fashion blog, Les Mads, which Natalie's sister Jessica started in 2007 and Natalie joined in 2008. Natalie lives in a great apartment in Paris with her French boyfriend, and in early June I whizzed over to Paris on the Eurostar to photograph her for Grazia. You can find the full feature on Grazia.it here.
Natalie is another one of those girls who is always a pleasure to be around during the fashion weeks (she writes, takes photos and videos for Les Mads). Always happy and up for a chat even when her luggage has been lost by the airline (Stockholm Fashion Week August 2010) or she has come down with the flu (NYFW February 2011). And she is also very beautiful. All tumbling wavy hair (she was lamenting its misbehaviour on the morning of our shoot together), sprinkling of freckles (both Jessica and Natalie know I adore their freckles!) and pale alabaster skin. And she is super smart. Natalie has as computer science and media degree, studied a semester of film at the Sorbonne in Paris and next year will complete her Master's degree.
Natalie's style? Pretty, feminine dresses and heels for off-duty with more relaxed, pared down trousers, shirts and flats for when she is running around at fashion week and uni. She mixes vintage (you can find her favourite stores in Paris in the Grazia feature), with pieces gifted to her by her boyfriend's mama (beautiful brown brogues, 70's style shirts), with selects from COS, Zara and H&M. Oh, and the hardware store! Natalie's ring in the above photographs (which looks like rose gold) is something she picked up at the hardware store for 2 euro!Natalie's dress at the cafe (which must have been the busiest cafe in Paris at the very time I was photographing Natalie.... I was dodging pedestrians, buses, pigeons and a tetchy old man who objected to Natalie putting her bag on the ground!) is from Zara, her sandals are from H&M and her bag is vintage.
Natalie's shirt is from French brand Souleiado, her trousers are Balenciaga (I think she said she found them in a vintage store in the South of France-another favourite hunting ground of Natalie's for vintage) and her shoes are from Zara. Jumpsuit from H&M.
Love the lamp that Natalie's clever boyfriend made in the photo below...
Red dress is vintage as are the shoes. The clutch is Chanel.
